Serious MVA on Route 41

At 2330, CFC units along with an ambulance from Station 12 were dispatched to Route 41 and Faggs Manor Road in Londonderry Township for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries.

Moments after dispatch, Lieutenant 27 arrived on location and advised Fire board that he was on scene with a single vehicle accident well of the roadway, with multiple patients that had been ejected from the vehicle.

Fire board then upgraded the assignment to a serious motor vehicle accident which added two additional ambulances and two medic units.

Rescue and Chief 27 arrived onscene at 2340.  Chief 27 established the Gap Newport Pike Command.

The Rescue crew split while the Captain performed a scene size-up.

There were a total of three patients in the vehicle two of which were ejected.  One of the patients was in an area of bamboo.  Crews from the rescue and engine worked to make access to the two patients that had been ejected utilizing chain saws and other equipment.

Crews quickly work to get the patients removed from the field and in the care of EMS.

Once the patients were in the care of EMS, Engine 2 and the Utility were released from the scene.

The Rescue remained onscene to assist PSP with lighting and Null's Towing with removing the vehicle.
