CO Alarm in West Fallowfield
Sunday, January 11, 2015
This afternoon, CFC units were dispatched to a residential CO Alarm in West Fallowfield Township.
Rescue, Engine 2, Utility, Chief, and Assistant 27 all made the response within minutes of dispatch.
Units arrived and went into investigation mode.
As the Rescue crew made their way to the basement, levels of CO were found. At that point, crews masked up and continued to investigate.
Once the source was located and isolated, the residence was ventilated using a combination of positive and negative pressure fans off of the apparatus.
Once ventilated, the residence was closed up and a secondary check was done to ensure the CO levels were remaining at zero.
The scene was then turned over to the homeowner who was advised to have an inspection and necessary repairs made to the heat system before returning it to service.
The Officers and Members of the Cochranville Fire Company would like to remind you to be sure you have properly installed and maintained CO Alarms and Smoke Detectors.
