Tuesday, August 19, 2014
This morning units were dispatched to Edenton Road and Sawmill Road in Upper Oxford Township for an accident with possible entrapment.
Due to the day time response, the Union Fire Company was dispatched for an engine to assist with manpower.
Chief 27, Engine 27-1, Rescue 21, Rescue 27, along with multiple EMS units made the response.
Units arrived to find a two vehicle accident with the operator of one of the vehicles confined.
Chief 27 had the "Saw Mill Command"
Upon arrival of E-1, they were advised that the door needed to be popped in order to remove the operator. The crew split, the vehicle was stabilized, tools prepared for the extrication, and a suppression line pulled. Both rescues arrived, their crews assisted E-1 with hazards, stabilization, and extrication.
Once the vehicle was stabilized, the window was removed. The door was then popped and removed from the vehicle.
The operator was extricated from the vehicle and in the care of EMS within 11 minutes of the arrival of E-1.
Crews wrapped up, the rescues cleared the scene. E-1 and the Chief remained on scene while Null's Towing removed the vehicles. 27 units returned available within the hour.
