Rural Water Supply Training
Monday, August 18, 2014
This evening members met at the station and were joined by members from the Keystone Valley Fire Department, and the Quarryville Fire Department to take part in rural water supply training.
Crews traveled to Chet Drive in Londonderry Township, where Engine 27-2 laid a 5" supply line in the "driveway" from the roadway to simulate a real life structure fire. Engine 27-5 and Tanker 57 (QFD) arrived and supplied E-2 via the 5" supply line.
E-5 and T-57 shuttled water from a nearby water source.
This was a great exercise for the 27, 8, and 57 crews to work together and share ideas. Additionally it gave our newer pump operators the chance to get hands on experience on the pumps.
Thanks to the Quarryville and Keystone Valley Fire Departments for coming out and training with us.
