Working House Fire - in Oxford Borough

Sunday, September 8th, 2013 at 1849 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company’s Rescue 27 was alerted along with Lancaster County Engine 57-2, Truck 57, and SCCEMS Medic 94 for the working fire dispatch on the house at the 100 block of Hillside Drive in Oxford Borough. At 1849 hours, the fire was upgraded to the 2nd alarm alerting the rest of the Cochranville Fire Company and the West Grove Fire Company. Rescue 27 responded at 1856 hours with a crew of six followed by Engine 27-2 with a crew of five two minutes later and Engine 27-5 three minutes later. All 27 units arrived on scene and the crews started gathering all tools that may be needed by the Rapid Intervention Team. Crew members stood by in case they were needed as well as walked around the area doing scene size ups, helped throw ladders and checked for extension in a neighboring house whose siding had melted from the heat of the fire. The fire was placed under control at 1946 hours with all units working. All 27 units returned available by 2116 hours. Thank you to Engine 8-3 for standing by at our station during this incident.
