Woods Fire - Homeville Road

Saturday, March 23rd 2013 at 1709 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company was alerted for a woods fire on the 3000 block of Homeville Road in West Fallowfield Township. Assistant 27, M. Harris, responded at 1712 hours. With the report from Chester County Fire Board that the fire was about 100 yards into the woods, he requested that the brush unit from the Union Fire Company #1 of Oxford be added to the assignment. Assistant 27 arrived on scene with a large area of woods well off and took “Homeville Command.” Engine 27-1 arrived on scene shortly after. The engine crew headed into the woods with rakes to start containing the fire. Once additional manpower arrived on scene from Engine 27-5, Brush 21 and Engine 21-2, crews were able to get hand lines in operation in the woods. At 1757 the situation was placed under control.
