Auto Accident with Entrapment - Cochran Street and Limestone Road

Monday, February 13th, 2012 at 1318 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company, an engine from the Atglen Fire Company, Lancaster County Ambulance 5-2 and Medic 94 were alerted for an auto accident reported with entrapment at the intersection of Cochran Street and Limestone Road in West Fallowfield Township.
Rescue 27 responded with a crew of five at 1322.
Rescue 27 arrived on scene at 1324 hours with a two vehicle accident. Due to the patient’s complaints and their door being stuck, the crew determined it was in the patients best interest to remove the roof of the vehicle to get the patient out safely.
Engine 27-1 responded at 1326.
Crew members started cribbing the vehicle and preparing the hydraulic tools for use.
After the roof was cut, at 1338, it was removed. The medical personnel on scene placed the patient on a back board and Ambulance 5-2-2 and Medic 94 transported the patient to Christiana Hospital.
All 27 units returned available by 1355 hours.
