Working Barn Fire in West Marlboro Township - 200 Block of Hood Road

On the morning of May 31st, 2011, the Cochranville (Station 27), Po-Mar-Lin (Station 36), and West Grove Fire Companies (Station 22) were dispatched to the 200 block of Hood Road for a barn fire. Additional information reveled that there were still horses in the barn and that there was an apartment attached to the barn as well. Chief 22 arrived on scene at 00:46 and confirmed the report that the barn was on fire. Chief 36 arrived on scene behind Chief 22 and assumed "Hood Command" at 00:47. Engine 27-1 responded at 00:43 with a crew of five and arrived first on scene at 00:50. Upon arrival 27-1 pulled up to the front side of the barn and pulled two attack lines and went in service. Engine 27-5 went en route at 00:46 and arrived on scene at 00:50 at the same time as Engine 36. 27-5 went to work supplying 27-1 with water and Engine 36 laid a supply line from the driveway to the backside of the barn. Crews moved to blitz fire operations and the first alarm tanker taskforce was alerted. Crews were sent to the manpower pull and then were given assignments as they came about. Crews remained on scene until 05:46 when units began to get released. All 27 units returned available by 06:07. ***Thanks to the Honeybrook Fire Company for standing by in our station and assisting in the clean-up of our units. 27 Units: Engine 27-1, Engine 27-5, Engine 27-2, Rescue 27 and QRS 27.
