Sunday, March 6, 2011
On the evening of March 6, 2011 the Parkesburg, Pomeroy, and Cochranville Fire Companies were dispatched at 19:12 to the 20 block of Crestview Drive for an electrical fire inside. Engine 27-2 responded at 19:20 with a crew of six followed by Engine 27-5 at 19:21 with a crew four and Rescue 27 at 19:22 with a crew of five. Engine 28 arrived on scene at 19:24 with nothing showing and assumed "Crestview Command." Upon Engine 27-2s arrival crews were assigned to use the thermal imaging camera to look over the basement where the electrical box was located. When crews got to the basement they discovered the electrical box was arching. It was discovered outside that there were exposed wires that when they came in contact with water, they sent a current into the house from the service line which was the cause of the arching. Crews remained on scene until Peco's arrival. Rescue 27 and Engine 27-5 returned available at 19:55 and Engine 27-2 was available at 20:08. Units: Engine 27-2, Engine 27-5 and Rescue 27
