Fire Prevention in Modena - East Fallowfield Elementary School

Saturday, October 10th, 2009, at 1600 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company’s Engine 27-1 traveled to the East Fallowfield Elementary School to standby for the Modena Fire Company while they hosted their 2009 Fire Prevention Program. The program began at 5 pm. Parents and children got to see eight different stations. Of those stations were: smoke alarms, fire escape plans, a smoke trailer, stove fires, stop drop & roll, firefighter dress up, small fires / fire extinguishers, and lighter / match / candle safety. The night also included a repelling demonstration, K9 demonstration, a firefighter competition, Sky FlightCare, a rescue demonstration, a vehicle fire and a house fire demonstration. The winners of the firefighter competition was as follows: 1st Place Pomeroy Fire Company 2nd Place Thorndale Fire Company (Team 1) 3rd Place Modena Fire Company 4th Place Cochranville Fire Company (The Ladies team) The Modena Fire Company competed for fun however they felt it was not right that they take one of the three trophies, so the 3rd place trophy was turned over to the forth place team. The Cochranville Fire Company would like to thank the Modena Fire Company for letting us standby and also take part in the events. Units: Engine 27-1
