Working Barn Fire in East Drumore Township - 600 Block of Wesley Road

Thursday, May 27th, 2010 at 1548 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company was alerted for Engine 27-5 to stand-by at the Union Fire Company #1 of Oxford while they were assisting on a working barn fire in Lancaster County. Not long after being alerted, Engine 27-5 was re-alerted to respond to the fire scene on the 600 block of Wesley Road in East Drumore Township, Lancaster County. Engine 27-5 responded with a crew of six at 1600 hours and arrived on scene at 1620. The engine immediately entered into the water shuttle to haul six loads (18,000 gallons of water) for the night. The engine crew helped with fire suppression and overhaul. There was hay inside the barn that had to be removed with track loaders. Engine 27-5 was released and returned available at 2030 hours.
