Saying Goodbye to Engine 27-3 - Cochranville Fire Company
Monday, February 15, 2010

On Sunday, February 14th, 2010, around 1800 hours, members of the Cochranville Fire Company met at the station to strip Engine 27-3 of most of it's equipment. As per the apparatus committee, the truck was to be given to a "needy" fire company. After postponing the departure a few times due to the weather, the time had finally come. Engine 27-3 was placed out of service in Chester County around 2100 hours that night. On Monday, February 15th, around 1100 hours, members of the Cochranville Fire Company met with a few members of the New Lancaster Valley Fire Department. Their members had over a two hour drive down to Cochranville to pick up the engine. Many pictures were taken and Cochranville members said goodbye. The New Lancaster members insured us that the truck would be placed into service within the week in their local. We wish the best of luck to them with their new/used engine!
