Working House Fire in West Fallowfield - 1500 Block of Glen Run Road

On Sunday, December 27th, 2009 at 0152 hours, the Atglen and Cochranville Fire Companies along with an Ambulance from both Parkesburg and Christiana were alerted for a house fire on the 1500 block of Glen Run Road in West Fallowfield Township. At 0156 hours, the West Fallowfield Police Department arrived on scene confirming that the house was fully involved. Engine 27-1 responded with a crew of five at 0200 followed by Engine 27-5 a minute later with a crew of six. Rescue 27 responded soon after with a crew of six and Engine 27-3 responded a minute later at 0207 with a crew of four. Engine 26-1 established "Glen Run Command" at 0209 hours. The Chester County Fire Marshals along with the First Alarm Tanker Task Force were called to the scene. The tanker task force included two tankers out of the Christiana Fire Company, Pomeroy Engine 29-5, West Grove Tanker 22 and Kinzer Fire Company’s Tanker 4-5. At 0214 hours, the Second Alarm Tanker Task Force was alerted to respond to the scene. The second alarm included two tankers from the Bart Fire Company, the Union Fire Company #1 of Oxford’s Tanker 21, Avondale Tanker 23, and Kennett Fire Company’s Engine 24-6. The crews from all 27 units helped to extinguish the fire before it spread into the garage while Engine 27-3 filled tankers at a fill site at a creek on Fallowfield Road and Rescue 27 filled air cylinders. Pomeroy Ambulance 29-1 came to the scene to assist with rehab. The fire was placed under control at 0339 hours. All 27 units returned available by 0625 hours.
