Busy Saturday for the Cochranville Volunteers

Saturday March 12th at 0813 Station 27 was dispatched to 535 W 4th Avenue to assist the Keystone Valley Fire Department on a working fire. The police were onscene reporting the house to be fully involved.
Engines 1 and 2 along with the Rescue and the Utility made the response.
Units worked onscene for several hours assisting with fire suppression and overhaul being placed available at 1144.
Shortly after finishing getting the units back in service, Station 27 was alerted at 1345 for a first due barn fire in Londonderry Township along with surrounding mutual aide companies.
Deputy 27 arrived onscene with a fully involved barn that was full of hay and straw along with cattle.
All 27 units made the response to the barn fire along with many units from mutual aid companies.
In all, 5,200' of hose was on the ground.
Water was supplied to engine 27-2 from a tanker shuttle operation. The ladder pipe was supplied from a nearby hydrant.
An excavator was brought in by BM Burkhart Excavating from Cochranville to assist with the overhaul process.
All 27 units were clear of the scene by 1855 and the company was back in service by 2000.

Also assisting with the barn fire was Null's Towing. A huge thanks for them in assisting removing the stuck ladder truck and livestock extrication.

Personel: 34
Hours in service: 4 Hours, 38 minutes
Total: 15 Personel per call; 15 hours, 24 minutes in service in a 36 hour period
Members from the Cochranville Fire Company logged a total of 310 man hours in that period.
The officers would like to thank everyone who spent their Saturday supporting us and the community.
The barn fire makes the fifth working fire that the Cochranville Volunteers responded to this week.
