Auto Accident with Confinement - Route 41 and Hood Road

On September 4, 2012 the Cochranville Fire Company and the West Grove Fire Company Ambulance Division were dispatched at 15:20 to Route 41 and Hood Road for an auto accident with unknown injuries.
Engine 27-1 responded at 15:22 followed by Rescue 27 at 15:27.
Engine 27-1 arrived on scene to find a two vehicle accident with one vehicle off the roadway into a culvert with heavy rear end damage with one person still in the vehicle.
After a scene size up was complete it was determined that the best way to remove the occupant from the vehicle would be to remove the B post of the vehicle. Engine 27-1's crew went in service with extrication operations at 15:33.
Rescue 27 arrived on scene at 15:33 and assisted Engine 27-1's crew with extrication.
Extrication was completed at 15:44.
Crews then worked to clear the roadway of debris and cleaned up from the extrication.
All 27 units then returned available at 15:51.
