Water Supply Training
Monday, September 29, 2014

On Monday, September 29th the active crew came together at 1900 hours for a water supply drill with our new 5" siemese valve and our cuurent fold-a-tank operations.

The drill started with Engine 27-2 laying a supply line to simulate their laying into a driveway.  Engine 2 crew deployed handlines to create a fire flow.  Captain Christman and Lt. Harvey used this as an opportunity to work with our juniors and newer members on handline operations.

Engine 27-5 was put into position to supply the 5" using the new valve.  With initial water supply established crews set up the fold-a-tank.  Engine 27-1 was put into position to draft and continues the supply to Engine 2 once 27-5 was empty.

Tanker 23 (Avondale) filled the port-a-tank and started shuttle operations.

The operations gave some of our newer pump operator some time to gain more skills and the current driver partnered with them to allow for coaching and refresher for them.

The system was broke down and all units clean and back into service at 2100 hours.

Thanks for Avondale Fire Company and Chief Cole for asssiting in our drill session.
