Building Fire
Friday, June 13, 2014

At 1427, the Cochranville Fire Company along with the Oxford (21) and Bart (Lancaster County 51) Fire Companies were dispatched to the 4700 block of Newark Road in Upper Oxford Township for a reported building fire.

When Chester County Fire Board notified Lancaster County Fire Board of the incident, they were advised that Bart was already on a Dwelling Fire.  At that point, the West Grove Fire Company (12, 22, 32) was alerted to cover.

Engine 27-2 went enroute at 1431 with a crew of 5.

Assistant 21 went onscene reporting a 100' X 75' structure with heavy fire showing.  At that point, he requested the working fire dispatch along with the first alarm tanker task force.

Engine 27-2 arrived partially laying a 5" supply line in the driveway.  Crews split to make an attack on the fire and to protect a 1,000 gallon propane tank that was next to the fire building.

Engine 21-2 arrived behind 27-2 completing the lay.  21-2's crew assisted 27-2's crew with making a knock on the fire.

Ladder 21 was advised to back in and prepare for a master stream operation.

Additional units responded to the scene as they cleared the Dwelling fire in Bart.

Engine 51-2 arrived and set-up a draft site on "Andrew's Bridge" allowing the tankers to be released.

Crews worked on-scene until 1655 when the Newark Command was terminated and units returned.

Thanks to the mutual aide companies for all their help and team work!

Thanks to the Honey Brook Fire Company Engine 33-5 for covering our local and assisting with clean-up as our units returned.
