Building Fire Box 2101 - Oxford Borough

Saturday, January 19th, 2013 at 0158 hours, the Union Fire Company #1 of Oxford was alerted for a car on fire on the 400 Block of South 3rd Street in Oxford Borough. After receiving multiple calls, there was more details of it being a single vehicle accident on fire into a building. Police arrived on scene with a vehicle into a building with the building on fire. With this information the call was upgraded to a building fire response. Deputy 21 also requested the 2nd alarm. This added additional units from the surrounding stations including the Cochranville Fire Company for an Engine and Rescue (for Rapid Intervention). Rescue 27 responded with a crew of seven at 0217. The rescue arrived on scene at 0227 as Engine 27-2 responded with a crew of four. The rescue crew immediately set up for their assignment and took turns doing walk arounds of the building. As Engine 27-2 arrived on scene at 0236, the fire was placed under control. Due to the quick knock down of the fire, all 27 units returned available shortly after 0300 hours.
