Assist Oxford on a Building Fire - 100 Block of Barnsley Road

In the early evening of September 6th, 2011, the Union Fire Company of Oxford (Station 21) and Cecil County Station 8 were dispatched at 16:22 to the 100 block of Barnsley Road for a building fire. Chief 21 arrived on scene at 16:24 and requested the working fire dispatch. At 16:25 Rescue 27, along with Medic 94 and Lancaster County Station 5-13 were dispatched to respond to the fire. At 16:28 the assignment was upgraded to a second alarm fire. Rescue 27 went en route with six at 16:33 and was advised that the crew would act as the Rapid Intervention Team. Engine 27-5 was dispatched at 16:40 as part of the first alarm tanker task force on the assignment. Engine 27-5 went en route with a crew of five at 16:46. Chief 21 assumed Baltimore Pike Command at 16:43. Upon Rescue 27’s arrival at 16:57, the crew staged on the alpha side of the structure in the event a rapid intervention team was needed. Engine 27-5 arrived on location at 17:02 and sent its crew up to the scene to help fill Rescue 27’s crew while the engine went into the tanker shuttle line up. Rescue 27 returned available at 00:00 and Engine 27-5 returned at 00:56. 27 Units: Rescue 27 and Engine 27-5.
