Passerby Reports Building Fire - 3400 Block of Gap Newport Pike

After all units returned to the station and were in the process of cleaning up hose lines and apparatus after the house fire, at 1723 hours, the West Grove, Cochranville and Avondale Fire Companies and Pomeroy Fire Company’s Engine 29-1 were alerted for an outbuilding fire on the 3400 block of Gap Newport Pike in London Grove Township. Engine 29-1 and Engine 27-1 with a crew of five responded at 1726 followed by Engine 27-2 with five and Engine 27-5 with two. Engine 29-1 was the first engine to arrive on scene and pulled into the driveway to find a garage with light smoke showing. After crew members investigated, it was found that a generator was being used too close to combustible materials. The materials began to smolder however the fire was out upon arrival.
