Hazardous Materials Operations Class - Cochranville Fire House
Sunday, April 25, 2010

Members of the Cochranville Fire Company took part in a Hazardous Materials Operations class held at the Cochranville fire house and instructed by Jerry Lindenlauf. The class began on Monday night, April 19th and continued on Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th. Monday was a basic book night. Saturday began with a breakfast and book work and continued through the day with damming, diking and diversion methods. We then had lunch followed by more book work. Sunday began with book work and was followed by donning HazMat PPE (Class A through D). The company will test later in July due to scheduling arrangements; many of the class members were only re-certing HazMat Ops but will still have to take both the written and practical test come July. Both the written and practical test will be held at the West Chester Training Center. A special thanks to Beth and Tony for providing breakfast and lunch both days and to Deputy 27, Brain Drennen, for providing the stone dust used in class on Saturday.
