Working House Fire in East Marlboro - 900 block of Mitchell Farm Lane

Monday, May 3rd, 2010, at 1824 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company was dispatched for Engine 27-5 to stand-by at the Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company (Station 36.) Engine 27-5 responded with a crew of five. After arriving at Station 36, the crew began helping with the hydrant refilling station located at Station 36. After about five minutes at the station, the crew was then reassigned to the house fire scene on the 900 block of Mitchell Farm Lane in East Marlboro Township for man power and additional water at the scene. The fire began in the attic and progressed through the house eventually causing the roof to collapse and a mandatory evacuation was transmitted through the Chester County air ways. Other companies were called to assist with the fire including Avondale, Kennett Square, Longwood, West Grove, West Bradford, First West Chester and Goodwill for air. The crew from Cochranville was placed in the overhaul man pull and performed two rotations before being released at 2100 hours. Engine 27-5 returned available by 2121 hours. Units: Engine 27-5
